Create captions for interviews, lessons, presentations and recorded clips. Generation finishes before playback displays the new subtitles; it does not transcribe live. The downloaded subtitle file is separate from your original video.

How to generate video subtitles

  1. Choose a video from your device. Open Settings if you want to select the spoken language or recognition mode.
  2. Click Generate subtitles and wait for extraction and recognition to finish. You can cancel at any time.
  3. Play the video, correct the captions and timing, then export SRT or VTT for your player or editor.

Subtitle Generator FAQ

How do I convert a video to SRT?

Select your video, generate the subtitles and review them in the editor. Click Export SRT to download text with start and end timestamps. Export VTT creates a WebVTT file instead.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Audio extraction, recognition and editing happen in your browser. The first generation downloads the processing resources; later runs can reuse the browser cache.

Can I choose the subtitle language?

Automatic detection is the default. Under Settings, you can choose the spoken language explicitly. Recognition transcribes the speech in its original language; it does not translate captions.

Will the subtitles follow the video?

Yes. Recognition completes first and preserves the video timeline. Captions then follow playback and seeking. You can edit individual times or shift all captions if needed.

How can I improve the result?

Use clear speech and select the correct language. Enhanced mode can improve recognition but uses more memory and time. Noise, music and overlapping speech can cause errors, so review the captions before exporting.
