Control the extracted subtitle text
Choose one caption per line or preserve line breaks, add blank lines between captions, and decide whether timestamps and cue numbers should remain. Formatting tags can be removed while speaker labels are kept, which is useful for transcripts, notes, search indexing, translation drafts, and content review.
Clean repeated captions
Some subtitle files repeat the same text across consecutive cues as a caption grows word by word. Enable merge repeated captions to reduce that duplication, and trim lines to remove spacing left by subtitle formatting.
Plain text does not preserve exact subtitle timing unless you keep timestamps. Review speaker changes, music descriptions, sound-effect labels, and intentional repeated lines before treating the result as a final transcript.
