Voice Recorder captures microphone audio directly in your browser. Record a voice memo, spoken note, interview answer, pronunciation sample, podcast draft, narration, song idea, meeting recap, or quick sound test, then pause, resume, stop, and listen before downloading.
The microphone selector is useful when a computer has a built-in mic, headset, USB microphone, audio interface, or virtual input. Speech settings can reduce echo and steady volume for calls and narration, while disabling processing may be preferable for music, instruments, and studio microphones.
MP3 is selected by default for broad compatibility with phones, computers, messaging apps, media players, and editing software. You can instead choose WAV or FLAC for editing and lossless storage, M4A for Apple-friendly sharing, OGG or Opus for open web workflows, or keep the browser's original recording without re-encoding. Output bitrate, sample rate, and mono or stereo channels can be selected before conversion.
Microphone audio stays on your device. The recording is held in browser memory and is not uploaded to formatter.org. Closing or reloading the page clears the unsaved recording, so download the result before leaving the page.
