Grade Calculator

Calculate a weighted course grade, total a points-based gradebook, or find the score needed on a final exam. Add or remove assignments as needed and choose whether to show a common US letter grade.

Weighted grade calculation

For weighted grades, each assignment percentage is multiplied by its weight. The calculator reports the normalized average across the entered rows and the number of course percentage points earned so far. A note identifies whether the entered weights total exactly 100%.

Points-based grades

Points mode divides total points earned by total points possible. Extra credit is supported, so earned points may be greater than the possible points for an assignment.

Final grade needed

The required final exam score is calculated from the current grade, target course grade, and final exam weight. Results above 100% or below 0% are kept visible so you can tell when a target requires extra credit or has already been secured.

Letter grade boundaries vary between schools and courses. The included scales are optional display helpers; use the percentage result and your syllabus when a different grading policy applies.
