Generate independent random passwords with the browser Web Crypto API. Passwords are created on this device and are never sent to formatter.org. Select the allowed character groups, require coverage of each group, remove visually similar characters, and generate one password or a batch.
The generator uses rejection sampling so every character in the selected pool has an equal chance of being chosen. When group coverage is enabled, one character is selected from each enabled group before the remaining positions are filled and securely shuffled.
Estimated entropy is based on password length and the size of the available character pool. It is a useful comparison, not a guarantee: reused passwords, exposed clipboard history, compromised devices, and insecure storage can still defeat a mathematically strong password.
Store important passwords in a trusted password manager and use a different password for every account. For machine credentials, follow the length and character restrictions of the target service.
