Extract every animation frame as a PNG image.

GIF Splitter extracts each displayed moment of an animated GIF as a complete PNG image. The results are suitable for inspecting an animation, choosing a thumbnail, or editing selected frames without partial-frame artifacts.

Frame delays are shown when the GIF provides timing data. Download one frame at a time or package all extracted PNG files into a ZIP. Processing stays in this browser tab.

How to split a GIF into frames

  1. Choose one animated GIF from your device.
  2. Select Split GIF and wait while the complete PNG frames are prepared.
  3. Review the frame order and delay, then download individual PNG files or all frames as a ZIP.

GIF Splitter FAQ

Are the exported frames complete images?

Yes. Each PNG is fully rendered rather than exposing only the changed region stored internally by some GIF files.

Does splitting a GIF change the original file?

No. The source GIF is read only. The tool creates separate PNG copies of its frames.

What does the frame delay mean?

It is the time the frame is displayed before the animation advances. A GIF may omit a useful delay for a frame, in which case only the image size is shown.

Can I download every frame at once?

Yes. Download All Frames creates one ZIP containing the extracted PNG files in frame order.

Are GIF files uploaded?

No. Splitting and packaging happen locally in the current browser tab. Device memory determines the practical limit for large animations.
