Compress image-heavy PDFs locally. Selectable text may be flattened.

This compressor is useful for scanned PDFs and image-heavy documents. It rebuilds pages as compressed images, so use PDF to Text before compressing if you need extractable text.

PDF files can be large when they contain high-resolution scans, photos, slides, or exported design pages. Compressing the rendered pages can make a PDF easier to email, upload, or share through systems with size limits.

Because this method rasterizes pages, it is best for visual PDFs rather than documents where selectable text, links, form fields, or vector sharpness must be preserved. Keep the original file when you need an editable archive.

Use a lower render scale and lower JPEG quality for the smallest output, or choose a higher quality setting when readability is more important than size.
