SRT Time Shifter

Move every SRT subtitle cue earlier or later by the same amount. This is useful when captions are consistently out of sync with audio or video.

Shift every subtitle cue by one offset

Enter a decimal number of seconds, choose earlier or later, and the tool adjusts both the start and end of every cue. Millisecond offsets are supported, so values such as 0.250 can correct small synchronization errors.

Avoid negative subtitle times

Keep Keep times above 0 enabled when shifting captions earlier could move the first cue before the beginning of the video. The affected timing is clamped to zero instead of creating an invalid negative timestamp.

A uniform time shift fixes subtitles that are consistently early or late. It cannot correct gradual drift caused by a different frame rate, an edited video, or changing synchronization errors. Check cues near both the beginning and end before downloading the shifted SRT file.

Yes. Every recognized cue start and end timestamp is moved by the same positive or negative offset, which fixes subtitles that remain consistently early or late.

What happens when shifting subtitles earlier creates negative times?

Keep “times above 0” enabled to clamp negative timestamps to zero. Cues that cross the beginning of the file may become shorter after clamping.

Does shifting change subtitle text or fix timing drift?

Cue text and ordering stay unchanged. Only recognized timestamps are shifted, so this tool does not fix subtitles whose synchronization error changes gradually over time.
