SRT and WebVTT differences

SRT uses comma-separated milliseconds and numbered cues, while WebVTT uses dot-separated milliseconds, a WEBVTT header, and optional cue identifiers. The converter rewrites the timing syntax and document structure while keeping caption text and cue order.

How to convert SRT to VTT

1. Load a subtitle file or paste its contents into the left editor.
2. Choose whether to keep WebVTT cue IDs and whether formatting tags should be removed.
3. Convert, review the generated cues, and download the VTT file.

Basic timing and caption text translate cleanly, but advanced WebVTT positioning, regions, CSS, and player-specific styling do not have direct SRT equivalents. Preview the converted subtitles with the target video player before publishing them.
