Video Frame Extractor

Extract one frame or interval screenshots as JPG files.

Extract video frames when you need thumbnails, cover images, presentation stills, documentation screenshots, product demo snapshots, or QA evidence from a recording.

Choose a timestamp for one JPG frame, or extract frames every few seconds and download them as a ZIP. Private videos stay on your device while frames are generated with your browser's built-in video preview.

Single frame and interval modes

Single frame mode accepts a timestamp in seconds or a value such as 01:25. Interval mode captures a frame every chosen number of seconds. The maximum frame setting prevents a long video or small interval from creating an unexpectedly large ZIP file.

JPG frame quality

High quality keeps more detail for text, interfaces, and presentation slides, while smaller output is useful for contact sheets and quick previews. Frames use the source video's decoded resolution; the tool does not restore detail that is missing from a low-resolution or heavily compressed recording.

Browser seeking can land on the nearest decodable frame, so the captured image may differ by a small fraction of a second from the requested timestamp.

How to extract frames from a video

  1. Choose a video, then select Single frame for one timestamp or Frames every N seconds for a sequence.
  2. Enter the timestamp or interval, choose JPG quality, and set Max frames when extracting a sequence.
  3. Click Extract Frames, review the previews, and download one JPG or the ZIP containing all extracted frames.

Video frame extractor FAQ

Which video formats can I use?

The page accepts common formats including MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, and MKV. Exact support depends on the video and audio codecs stored inside the container.

Will the frame match the exact timestamp?

Video seeking can land on the nearest frame that the file can decode reliably. Compressed video may therefore produce a frame slightly before or after the requested time.

How do I avoid extracting too many frames?

Set Max frames to limit the result. Interval extraction stops when it reaches that number or the end of the video, whichever comes first.

Why are multiple frames downloaded as ZIP?

A single extracted frame downloads as one JPG. When several frames are created, they are packaged in one ZIP file for a single download.
