No. Select the column containing the same kind of ID in each table, such as Customer ID and Client Number. Matching uses one column from each table. Leading and trailing spaces are ignored by default; letter case is kept unless you change the options.
Every main-table row is kept. Empty IDs never match, and fields remain blank when no match exists. If the supplementary table repeats an ID, the default is to leave its fields blank and flag the row. You can explicitly choose its first or last record. Repeated IDs in the main table are kept and reported.
Text IDs retain their zeros, and simple Excel zero-padding formats are read as displayed text. Zeros already lost because a source stored the ID as a plain number cannot be recovered. Choose XLSX to keep text IDs; Excel may reinterpret them when opening a CSV directly.
The result contains static values, not executable formulas. Source formulas use their saved results; a formula without a saved result becomes blank. Fonts, colors, charts, merged cells and macros are not retained. Formula-like text in CSV receives a leading apostrophe to prevent execution when opened in a spreadsheet.
Files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to a server. CSV and TSV accept UTF-8 and UTF-16 text. The preview is paginated, while downloads include all main-table rows. Large workbooks may exceed the browser memory budget; save only the needed worksheet or columns and try again. You can cancel a task and reuse the selected files.
