Open common archive formats online

An archive can contain files in nested paths, an application package, a backup, or a collection of documents. This extractor reads common ZIP, 7Z, RAR, TAR-based, disk image, and package formats and shows their file entries before extraction.

Only regular entries with safe relative paths are offered. Limits on archive size, entry count, and expanded data protect browser memory, while conflicting names are adjusted instead of overwritten.

How to extract an archive online

  1. Select or drop one supported archive file and enter its password if required.
  2. Click Open Archive to inspect the files, paths, and uncompressed sizes it contains.
  3. Click Download beside a file, or choose Extract All to Folder and a destination if your browser supports folder access.

Online archive extractor FAQ

Which archive formats can I open?

The extractor accepts common archives including ZIP, ZIPX, 7Z, RAR, TAR, TAR.GZ, TAR.BZ2, TAR.XZ, ISO, JAR, and APK. Support can vary with the exact format version, compression method, and encryption used by a particular file.

Is my archive uploaded?

No. The archive is read and extracted locally in your browser and is not uploaded. Nothing is saved until you click Download or grant folder access for Extract All to Folder.

Can I open a password-protected archive?

Enter the password before opening the archive. Some encryption methods or archive variants may not be compatible, and an incorrect password will prevent the contents from being read correctly.

How do I extract a file from the archive?

After opening the archive, use Download beside an entry to save only that file. If your browser supports folder access, Extract All to Folder recreates safe relative paths in a destination you choose.

Why will an archive not open?

A damaged archive, unsupported compression or encryption method, split multi-part set, or insufficient browser memory can stop extraction. Confirm that every required volume is available and try a desktop archive utility for variants this page cannot read.
