Extracting the left audio channel isolates everything stored on the left side of a stereo file. The selected channel is written as mono, making it easier to edit, transcribe, analyze, or reuse independently.
This is useful when two microphones, speakers, languages, instruments, or test signals were recorded on separate stereo channels. It avoids mixing unwanted right-channel material into the result.
If the input is already mono, the available channel is preserved. For a stereo file, preview the output to confirm that the intended source was recorded on the left.
All processing remains in the browser, and the original recording stays unchanged. The extracted channel can be exported in the source format or another supported audio format.
