Convert cost and markup percentage into a selling price, gross profit, and profit margin. Quantity and sales tax can be included when a complete order total is needed.
Markup measures profit against cost, while margin measures profit against selling price. The calculator shows both percentages so they are not confused.
A single discount multiplies the original price by one minus the discount rate. With two discounts, the second rate applies to the already reduced price; the tool also reports their combined effective discount.
Markup is gross profit divided by cost. Profit margin is gross profit divided by selling price. They describe the same transaction from different bases and normally have different percentages.
The subtotal multiplies the per-item result by quantity. Tax is then applied to that subtotal. The currency selector changes display formatting only and does not perform exchange-rate conversion.
