Fruitchouli fans can make many fine distinctions among different examples of the genre, but they all tend to smell very similar to me, so I think the challenge is to find a way to make the fruitchouli feel distinctive, without making it too strange/inaccessible.
The lineage goes something like this: Coco Mademoiselle (2001), with its airy-earthy feeling of wet soil and petals (which Mat identifies as broadly derived from the original Opium (1977) and Coco (1984), to Flowerbomb (2005), Lady Vengeance (2006), Narciso Rodriguez for Her Eau de Parfum (2006), Portrait Of A Lady (2010), English Pear & Freesia (2010), Miss Dior Chérie (2011), La Vie Est Belle (2012), and Experimentum Crucis (2019) as one of the last major niche players to repeat the classic fruitchouli style.

I like to have an example of every major trend in perfumery in my collection. As I'm not a huge fan of fruitchoulis I don't want to spend much on one for my collection. Can anyone reccomend^([sic]) a decent, cheap, typical fruitchouli.
The combined success of Coco Mademoiselle, Miss Dior Chérie, and Flowerbomb cemented the fruitchouli as the defining olfactory signature of the decade.
